Fall welcomes an abundance of fun between festivals, parties, decorating, dressing up, and of course….FOOTBALL! Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays since I was a child. I can remember dressing up as a witch almost EVERY Halloween with my best friend. We carelessly ran through our neighborhood singing, “Trick or Treat, Smell my feet, Give me something good to eat!” Now that I’m a mother, I want this season to be just as memorable for my girls.
Our front door is ready to greet any and all the trick-or-treaters. The door sign came from Kirkland’s and the rest is from Target.Inside, our home is more welcoming and warm. It was important that I stayed away from the typical orange and red tones inside because my house is very light, blue, and air-y.

We began the weekend with a fall festival at Avery’s school. All the girls wanted to do was get their faces painted and eat cotton candy. Due to the long lines and lack of help, I had to step and display my LACK OF artistic abilities. Sorry girls, your mom ended up painting yours and your friends’ faces.I loved this funky shirt from Target:) The next morning, we packed a picnic lunch and met my sister at Stone Mountain Park. My sweet and adorable niece, Brooklyn, enjoyed scooting around the grass. My little, but taller, sister Jessica and I riding up to the top of Stone Mountain. We encouraged the kids to walk in the SPOOKLY The Square Pumpkin parade. We got duped into not only walking with them, but holding props and dancing through the streets, too!
Saturday night was dedicated to watching the UGA Bulldogs whoop some Vanderbilt booty. I bought this ginger bread house from Publix for the girls to make while my husband and I propped our feet up in front of the TV (which rarely happens, so it is a special treat for us!) I had plans of making dinner but we filled up on the appetizer of three different cheeses, chicken and spinach sausage, and blackberry jam mixed with Sriracha. Just give me all the cheeeeeeeeeese 🙂 My favorite day of the entire fall break was the “Day we went Boo-ing”. I heard of this special treat two years ago when a friend left an unexpected package on our doorstep full of Halloween treats and goodies. I let the girls surprise their closest friends and family with our own Boo-Basket.Enjoy this 2 minute video of our time!!!
The next day, we were “boo’d” back from one of our recipients. I can say without a doubt that my girls had as much fun (or maybe even more!) doing that than when we took them to Disney World. Their adrenaline was sky high and you would have thought they were robbing a bank! Instead, we were making secret deposits;)
Fast forward to this weekend, and we hit up the local Buford Corn Maze. This place is down the road from our home and the girls have been begging to go since they have been watching the corn grow from this summer! Thanks Target for another festive shirt 😉 Just say NO to basic. The month is halfway over, so that means there is still plenty of time to make memories and have fun! Because let’s be honest, Christmas trees are going up November 1, so act fast!!!
